Auto Insurance and Registration Tips and Answers: Is it legal to ...

Question 1
Is it legal to sign a release form without seeing the car first?...  A couple of days ago my niece's car was towed for non-payment.Unfortunately the car is on my name because I bought the car at the beginning but she wanted it so she took over the payments.Or so I though. I went to pick up the car at the repossession place and when I got there I was told to sign some release papers, stating that I would not find them reliable to anything that could have happened to the car. When I refused to sign such papers until I see my car they told me that if I don't sign them I wouldn't be able to have my car back.So I signed the papers and when I finally saw the car it had the muffler torn apart and the front bumper was hanging loose. Now my question is : Can they just get away with this? Next time you call the bank and demand that they send a rep to view the car with you before you sign.. just the call will most likely fix the problem. - Bruce M

3)   There are three items that will determine the $$ outcome of the accident. The title was signed over to your mom. Does the bank, finance company, State, know this? And is it registered in her name? Title and registration are two separate items. And most important, Does the insurance company...
